Projekt X

CLIENT: Adriatique

LOCATION: Zurich, Switzerland

TYPE: LIVE EVENT

Design Objective: The goal of this project was to create a custom fabricated set piece for Adriatique's upcoming worldwide tour, "X Future," that would serve as the central element in the stage design. The set piece was designed to be easily crated, toured, rigged, pixel mapped, laser mapped, and flown in any orientation.

Design Concept: The custom-fabricated set piece was engineered to meet the highest safety standards in California, United States and shipped with all appropriate drawings and load specifications and engineering stamps. The set piece was fabricated using custom edge-lit DMX addressable LEDs that outline and are recessed inside of the structural arms of the X. The highly detailed build drawings were concepted in Rhino3D and finalized in Solid Works. The X is composed of 4 identical armatures and an interchangeable exterior skinning system, allowing for maximum modularity and flexibility. The set piece was built from aluminum to maximize the strength to weight ratio, with extensive rigging points available on each face to allow for unlimited rigging options.
